You can get it ... if you try!

I like to listen to the "High Standards" station on XM radio ... usually old stuff by the likes of Sinatra, Nat King Cole and such ... and I heard a song with a line in it that went ...

"Nice work if you can get it, and you can get it, if you try."

The thing that struck me was that I realized that this applies to anything we're striving for ... a job, an education, a relationship, etc.

Everything we ever get or achieve started first with an intention ... "I want that blue Mercedes!", and we proceeded to create a plan and take action towards our vision ... fueled (hopefully) by excited and inspired feelings towards the actual acheivement of our goal.

A great factor in our success is the amount of "trying" we do ... the more we want something, the more important it is to us ... the harder we try. Without trying, good luck!Â

Everything "nice" that we desire comes with a price, and that price has everything to do with effort. No efforts mean no results, and half-assed efforts equals half-assed results. Why many people are suprised when they fail after poor efforts puzzles me ... you'd think it'd be obvious, but I guess it's not!

What kind of efforts are YOU putting into what you say is important? If the answer is "not much", then I'd like to suggest that it couldn't be very important to you. If you're spending more time watching TV or surfing the internet, then those activities are more important to you ... aren't they? This is not a time to BS yourself ...honesty must start with yourSELF!

So put the "TRY" into all that's important to you ... and watch as you catch yourself saying "nice work!" when you've succeeded!
